What are the Digital Archives?

The archives contain about

about 2,000 video MP4 files,

about 1,000 JPEG photographs,

and over 4,000 PDF files.

The Video Archives

It would be difficult to look through a list of 2000 videos. So to find videos, in the SEARCH BOX simply type a title, name or key word that will filter the list. Then, click on the LINK next to the title to view the video.

The Photo Archives

The buttons NEXT and PREVIOUS can be used to browse the many photographs. The "+100" button will allow faster browsing. The desktop version of the archives website allows searching using key words.

The PDF Archives

It would be difficult to look through a list of 4000 PDF files. So to find these, in the SEARCH BOX simply type a search word that will filter the list. Then, click on the LINK next to the description of the item to view the document. Since most documents are 8 1/2 x 11, the desktop version of the archive website would work better. In addition, there are some older mobile devices, for instance phones running versions such as Android 11, which will not display PDF files in the web browser.

Mobile vs Desktop

Since the archives consist mainly of 8 1/2 x 11 scanned papers, the best experience is obtained by viewing on a desktop computer. However, recent studies suggest that 60% of web browsing is now done on mobile devices. We will attempt to share as much information as possible to as many users as possible.

Share With Us

If you have any old documents or photographs that you could share with the archives please email us at uecucc@comcast.net -- of particular interest are photographs as the "new" church was being built around 1957.

About the Archives

This site was created with contributions from the Endowment Fund of United Evangelical Church (UCC) - 3200 Dillon St. - Baltimore, MD. 21224.

How it all began...

Work began on the UEC Archives back in 1995 when John Price and his wife transcribed old written collections of Funerals, Weddings and Confirmations. These original dBASE files have been converted so that they be shared on the internet. Although they are not physically located on the United Archive site, we hope to transfer them soon. They can be accessed by clicking on the following links.
